Valentine's Day…

Yup, that dreadful day was yesterday…being a single is not easy during that time, but surprisingly I got away without any hurt feelings or a need to punch someone in the face xD It turned out to be a day like every other day too; I was "working" with my friends on our "future" video, that we had already more or less long planned to shoot. I won't give away what it's all about; maybe one day you'll see for yourself =) But because I knew exactly that it was Valentine's Day (my bestie "pretended" to not know what is happening in the world ;)), I wanted to dress to look the part and so here you have it, my V-Day inspired outfit^^

the caged bird?

Long time no see xD I've been sick for quite some time now, more precisely: I had a flu. Adding to this I had my end of semester exams and I'm in my 1 month vacation, but so far I couldn't profit from it -.- So here I am, on my way to being healthy again (especially my lungs need to get fit again), with an outfit post for you =)

I don't know exactly how to explain this, but the jumper has a nice shape, it slightly looks like a skater dress but at the same time it doesn't xD I found it in the back of my wardrobe after searching for a warm jumper since we have around -10°C here! *freezing* I haven't worn it in ages and I have the same one in grey too^^ Somehow I never realized that I actually like them or I just wore them in a way I didn't really like it, who knows…=)

just a little green, like the color in the spring…=)

Online shopping, where would I be without you?! Certainly not owning this dress xD I love this dress! I love it so much, that I even got it in black, but I love it less in black xD (I will show it to you soon^^) The color was the very first reason why I really wanted to get it! This green, I don't even know the name of it, I simply love it: it's bright, it's bold and it's unusual xD and that's exactly what I like^^ The cut of the dress is something I like too, but I should have got it in a smaller size, to show it off better. "Send it back" I hear you say? Sending stuff back has always been a dread for me, so no, I will live with this^^ Anyways, people seem to like it because I got some lovely comments about it, so yeah…x) It's a very good "everyday dress", especially for "lazy" days where you just have no inspiration!=)

I wore this outfit to university on the last day of the winter semester. It was a day of mixed feelings…First, I was excited to go because there were some "Christmas Lectures" I wanted to attend, but then in the morning, I didn't feel so good after all and was in a "blah -.-" mood, thinking of all the people I got to know throughout this semester who were here just for 1 Erasmus/Abroad semester…It hit me that we won't have classes together next semester and that I probably will never see them again since they live so far away; it made me a bit sad. I went after all, was too late for any class there was, but I had my friends who made a great job to cheer me up again xD So yeah…=)

☃ I'll be home for Christmas… ☃

I had a very nice and lovely Christmas at home with my family =) I forgot to load my camera's battery in advance, so I don't have any fancy pictures =( But I was able to take some in the evening of what I wore…x)

The story behind the dress: I went to H&M. I saw it. I loved it. I tried it (and took this picture). It was awesome, but there was only one dress left: one size smaller than mine with a broken zipper. I was disappointed. I wanted the dress! On Christmas Eve (Dec. 24th) I did my last round of shopping and I went to H&M to fetch my sisters a dress and I browsed through the women's clothes and there it was! My size, without a broken zipper, without anything flaw and I bought that baby!xD Of course I had to wear it on Christmas!xD

Becky goes 1920s

Hey there! It has been more than a month, but I'm still alive xD

On Thursday (08.12.11), I went to see a play called "Our Town/Luxembored?" acted by my university's theater-drama club "Edudrame". The play was ok up to good, but there were a few moments where I lost interest in it. Afterwards, there was a 1920s soirée in a café close to the theatre. Even before we went to see the play, we invaded a Finnish Erasmus student's room *hei Emmi!=)* to get dressed and we messed a bit around x) We exchanged clothes and jewels and we made one another's hair and tried to put on our make-up. The night itself was a blast!=) Much fun dancing to 20s music, many dressed up people and my friends!xD Emmi tried to teach us how to dance the Charleston, but I can't do it to save my life^^ (Only down-side: the cigarette stench! I can't wait that the Government decides on banning cigarettes in cafés and restaurants!)

The wizard and I.

It wasn't intended, it just happened! I wore this to uni yesterday and when I was dressed and was looking in the mirror, all I saw was a Hogwarts student or a witch out of Wicked…I like it!^^ At uni, my Bestie Leslie and my friend Lilian asked if I was aware of the fact that I look like a Hogwarts student, by then I knew it xD Seems like I can't let Harry Potter go so easily…*sob*

Some DIY stuff xD

Yup, you read right. Here are 2 things (of one I am kind of proud, it's on you to find out which one) that I managed to do myself xD To clear this right from the start, it's not the first time, but before I just don't know what happened why I didn't take some pictures…o_O
Anyways, this used to be a plain white t-shirt for MAN (I wanted something more loose/wide) and I cut out the neckline to sew one that I like better. (btw, my sewing skills are not the best. at all.)

"Sometin' You Might Like" (you can still see the pencil lines)

on the back (neck hight)

This is one of many t-shirts I did and it took me quite some time…I worked like about a week on this one and it's still not completely done (it still needs ironing to fix the color and to be washed to erase the pencil lines) so that I can wear it. It's a bit of a "tribute" to my favorite band Puggy because "Something You Might Like" is the title of their current album and one of their songs and the sentence itself is self-explanatory *hint to the gentlemen ;)* so yeah…

I used C. Kreul Javana fabric paint (bought it at a crafts shop for around €4 each) in 'grey' (intended was black, but it was sold out) and 'ruby red'. The pen you see is a textile marker from Pilot in 'black' (around €3). If in any further time you want me to explain how I do "all that", let me know, I'll try to document my next t-shirt then x) I will do some outfit posts as soon as the shirt is ready to be worn xD

And the next one…Ladybird/-bug nails xD

I should have been doing a bit of a 'retouche' on the nails, now that I see my flaws xD

My sister bought this 'Duo Nail Polish' from H&M yesterday and I volunteered to try it. Not being a big fan of pink, I tried red, which is the 1st time in my life ever that I am wearing red nail polish! And I found out why…I don't like it that much…=/ This red (on its own) is a bit to light for my taste, but I didn't want to waste it, so I grabbed my 'So Laque! Ultra Shine 30 Noir de Chine' nail polish by Bourjois and just put some dots on the red polish to see what it looks like…and tada! doing it on the 2 hands and here we are with the ladybird/-bug nails xD

Animal print.

Nail polish: "27 No More Drama" by essence & go

These shorts are the only item I possess with something close to animal print xD The sun decided to show itself today after more than a month of RAIN x_X This year, we really don't have much luck with the weather and I miss my beloved sun so much that I might have a little winter depression if I don't get my dose soon…xD Anyways, since it was ok outside I decided to get my shorts out of the wardrobe and get myself outside in the garden and take some pics there…=) Also, today I'm free from work and I had an extra long weekend, where I did mostly sleeping and watching movies. Tomorrow, back to work for another week and then I'm done for this summer x)
