Happy 1st Birthday, sherocksinfrocks! (:

So, today one year ago, I created this blog. *blows out the candle on the cake that I don't have*
I was so inspired after an article in a free newspaper about "fatshion" and the "blogosphere" and how the two work together. Featured were 'Young, Fat and Fabulous' (now Gabifresh :)), 'Saks in the City' and 'Frocks and Frou Frou'. After checking out these blogs, I was on the hook and wanted to give it a try myself, since I've been told on several occasions that I have a good taste in fashion (although I'm not the average size of clothing).

It's been an interesting year. I got involved in the blogosphere and I met fantastic people like the amazing Hadas from 'I am your fashion mannequin' or the ever so charming Mavy from 'Dialogues with a fruitcake'.

I still feel very inspired by all the blogs I read and I have so many ideas, but most of the time I'm lacking material to bring these ideas to live.

Also, I thought about holding my first giveaway, but first I need to find something nice to actually give away xD Anyways, you'll be the first to know by staying tuned^^ (I always wanted to say that xD)

Oh and before I forget: Happy Birthday Lis!n_n ♥

Get back to fashion, it is x)

Hello xD

I actually wanted to post some outfits and be more active here, but on Saturday some "beast" stung my left foot and I have a big infection in it. I had to take antibiotics and walk on crutches, I still have the bandage and I'm a bit shaky on the legs. But for the rest, I'm ok x)

After completing the 7 Day Challenge from Deja, I now want to post again more fashion related stuff =) So here are just some pictures…

One of my favorite nail polishes for…let's say this year! It's from "essence: colour & go" and it's called "27 No More Drama"
I have a soft spot for everything purple and violet and this is just the right mix of not to dark and not to light n_n

That's what i wore on Friday, before my foot got attacked… My friend Leslie & I were on a shopping trip to spike our Harry-Potter-inspired costumes for the HP 7.2 Premiere which was on Tuesday. Leslie dressed up as Tonks and I ended up not going because the Dr. said I don't have the right to walk on my foot and a Bellatrix Lestrange wouldn't be cool with a bandaged foot and crutches… Anyways…

Hair: a mess

Underneath are the pictures of Saturday. I went with my Campus Fraternity to "Europapark", an adventure park in Germany with many attractions and roller-coasters and stuff like that. It was awesome, we started out with the 2nd highest roller-coaster in Europe and it only became faster. We slowed down towards the end of our day at the park, the rest was "Higher, Faster, Stronger!". I screamed (a lot) like a lunatic, but I had fun the entire day and laughed a lot. Downside of the day was the sting I got, but oh well…x)

7 Day Challenge: Day 7

1 story about a memory.

Ok, that's a hard one…There are so many good memories that I have and I really don't know which one to share…I could tell the one of my first Prom and how my Date became my (former) best friend afterwards. (Let's name him Jay.)

It was June, I was in the last trimester of my 11th grade and my last year at this High School before I would change. I-can't-remember-who organized a Prom for the 1st time in the history of my High School and according dance lessons. I had in mind that I need to end this year with a "BOOM" and need to get me a hot date. It took me a very long time to pick someone I would ask out, but luckily, I found Mr. Right in the form of a good-looking, tall, black haired guy named Jay from the class with which we had gym together. I planned how to make the move but I wanted to get some back-up tips from my girl friends from his class, so I talked to them and one particular girl said that she wants to ask him out. "Ehm, no!" was what I said to her and she threatened (well, actually, she just told me) that she'll ask him later on during class. Fate was with me and they had class in the room next to ours. I spotted him and saw the girl approaching me from the left. I did not wait another second, went over and asked Jay if I could talk to him alone for a moment. He agreed and asked what was up. I just said "Did you hear about the Prom?", he said yes and so I went on "Well, I wondered if you want to go with me to Prom? Of course if you don't want to, I'm cool with that…" He smiled and said "why not?! I'm sure we'll have fun!". I was hyped and I liked it. The girl saw what happened and gave me the looks, but she got Jay as a partner for the dance lessons afterwards, while I was stuck with his best friend Dee, who had a slight crush on me back then (I found out about that way later…).

Anyways, we exchanged numbers and not long after that we started texting. We met and did, what he called, a photoshooting xD We had fun and got along better and better every time we met. We spent lunch breaks together in his room, sitting on the bed, listening to new music and talking about movies. There were some jealous interferences of his best friend Dee, who said that Jay just used me and that the friendship that builded up between us was all fake, but once I asked Jay and he cleared the air, all was super fine.

One day we (well, mostly I) decided that we show up in partner look. So, I constantly asked what Jay will wear and after many "I have no clue"s, he walked up to me and said that he knows what he'll wear and that I can come and check it out after school. (At this point, you should know that 1. the Prom theme was "Black & White" and 2. There wasn't a Tuxedo-Rule for guys invented yet at our High School)
So, he chose a poison green shirt and a pair of white pants. When I saw it, I was a bit bumped because I thought he would go all classy and I could pick a nice black dress, but poison green?! I still wanted the partner look and I was determined to find me a poison green dress. I crossed the border to Germany with my aunt, cousin and grandma to hunt down the perfect dress. After hours and hours of searching, I finally came across a poison green dress and it was mine xD

Prom was a success! We were the couple that night especially for showing up in poison green/white xD We had fun, danced all night together, he even threw in a table dance. But there are 2 specific moments I can remember:
1. When we took a picture together, he laid his arm around my shoulders and it looked all so natural, as if it has never been different.
2. At one point, we were holding hands while he talked to his guy friends in one direction and I talked to my girls in the other direction. Just when we both wanted to leave in different directions, we both realized that we were holding hands and the awkward moment was there. We let go immediately, turned away eagerly and moved away from each other. Then he came back, smiled, leaned in and said that I should stay here and that he'll be back in a few minutes. He didn't lie about that.

We were best friends for the following two years and we had a great time together, which I don't regret. But, like with many things in life, there is a point where everything changes and nothing is the same any longer. We still talk, once in a while, but it'll never be the same again. And to the question "What happened?", I can only answer by quoting Summer from 500 days of Summer: "Life happened."

7 Day Challenge: Day 6

2 Things you want.

Hmm…I only get to choose two, but right now, there are a lot of things I would like to have, starting with passing my year, a boyfriend, writing a novel, sunshine all summer long, having fun,… but I think that in this one, I have to go with what Deja said:

1. Happiness
2. Success

7 Day Challenge: Day 5

3 Things you miss.

I can't think of anything that I miss that has a strong value. Somehow, things turned out better for me in the future that I don't need to be missing something particular from my past. Here are some random things:

1. Sunshine
Here in Luxembourg sunshine is something rare to happen and to last. Being a child from the South, the sun is something very important and waking up to rain clouds instead of bright sunshine, even sometimes in July, gets you moody.

2. Fairytales
I love fairytales and stories in general. But fairytales were always capturing me; heroes were born, princes & princesses met, married and lived happily ever after, villains were always defeated. Everyone got what they deserved and it was all fair. Everyone was brave and fought the right fight. Aww…times back then…

3. Particular things from my childhood:
the innocence back then, being irresponsible &; fearless, playing tennis, having sleepovers with my cousin, Harry Potter,…

7 Day Challenge: Day 4

4 Things you wish you could say.

This is going to be a more or less emotional post. There are a lot of things I wish I could say to certain people, but for some it's too late and others aren't worth the breath.

1. "Thank you for being proud of me and believing in me no matter what, although we never had the chance to meet."

Believe me, I wanted to offer you a life here in Luxembourg, living with your son and his family. Living a better life, without having to flee from civil war and famine, without having to fear for your life . You only saw pictures of me and you always said that you are very proud of me and that I will turn out to be someone great. I loved you and you were my favorite grandmother of the both that I had. The day I got the news that you passed away was on a day where already before this tragic news, everything went wrong but I forgot all of that and was in shock of you being gone. I'm still not over it yet because every time I think about it, I tear up. I do believe that you are now in a better place and maybe you do see us from wherever you are. I hope that you are still proud of me, at least I'm giving my best. I love you. I miss you.
R.I.P. Grandmother Amelda
2. "Why didn't you tell me that earlier?! and why do you go on as if nothing ever happened?!"

You needed 3 years to tell me that both of us see our friendship on two different levels?! All I can say is: coward. But what I understand even less is that you have the nerve to show up later and pretend that there never happened anything. I don't know what was and is going on in your man-brain, but I'm not over this entire "I don't see you as such a good friend of mine, but more as an acquaintance…"-thing you tried to talk nice. I'm just glad that with time certain wounds heel and now, after a year of not seeing, hearing or talking to you, I am able to look straight into your green eyes and can say that I'm ok.
I wish you a good life.

3. "No." (without having a bad conscious afterwards)

I can't say no. I most of the time say yes and try to manage everything and fit it into a 24h-day. Sometimes when I do say 'No', I manage to say it to the wrong person, to the exact person to whom I should have said yes and it automatically leads to a bad conscious. Even when I say 'Yes', I find myself regretting the decision when it's already to late to change my mind. I am an analytical type of person, I always weigh the pro against the contra and try to find a solution/take a decision based on this scale. And because this usually takes a moment, I tend to take decisions without thinking and then…instantly I regret it but I can't change it anymore.

4. "I love you."

I never said it to someone, without meaning it as a joke (you could clearly hear the sarcasm and/or irony when I said it). Plus, there has never been and there isn't someone I want to say it to. Somehow I feel as if it makes me look like I'm a lonely person… Well, I still have hope, though.

7 Day Challenge: Day 1

7 Things that cross your mind a lot.

I found this "7 Day Challenge" on Deja's amazing blog, which you should definitely give a look.
I think a lot about different stuff and it changes constantly. Having an analytical mind doesn't make it easier^^ I tried to list 7 things that went through my mind RIGHT NOW in this very moment.

1. How I'm going to spend my summer.
Until now I just know what I'll do on Saturday and on Tuesday. I also know that I'll be working from 1st till 19th August…

2. University / My studies.
My results of my exams come out mid-July but I keep thinking about them every single day! Will they be good? Will they be bad? Questions over questions…

3. Working out.
I started to work out today with a friend *Hi Catia^^* and I feel great =) I just had to keep it decent today because of a nosebleed before hitting the gym, but I go hard on it the next days xD

4. 'How I met your Mother'.
I found my love for HIMYM a few days ago. First, friends talked about it and it didn't got to me until I gave it a try and hey, I really enjoy it!=)

5. Friends.
Summer is the time of friends, winter is the time of family. At least for me. I enjoy being outside with my few true friends and doing something. But even if we do nothing and just drive around in a car…it's the little things that count.

6. Clothes.
I don't worry about what I'm wearing, but I create new outfits in my head and I so wish that I could take a picture of my thoughts or that I'm good enough in drawing to bring my ideas to daylight.

7. Food xD
Do I have to add something?! I love food and having a constant hungry friend *Hi Leslie!xD* who reminds you at least twice an hour that she's hungry makes you eventually be hungry too and crave some food xD

Let's go to the zoo…(:

Thursday, June 30th, I went with some friends to the "Parc Merveilleux" in my neighbor city =) It's actually thought for children, but hey, we're children at heart!xD Anyways, when I was little there used to be just some goats and deers, many playgrounds and some awesome little castles which you entered and when you pushed a button, the most known fairytales were told and acted out by some dolls. I used to love these little castles. Nowadays, they made it more like a zoo, many different animals, the playgrounds safer and bigger and, gladly, they kept the little story-telling castles!=) And here are the pictures:
